I use TMPGEnc for converting Divxs to MPEG without any problems. Recently I tried converting a Xvid to MPEG and when it was finished, the MPEG had no audio. I tried extracting the audio as an uncompressed WAV with VirtualDub and then using that file as the audio track in TMPGEnc when converting, but I still had no audio.
I'm fairly new to this so I would appreciate any and all suggestions you had.
I am running Windows XP Pro.
Thanks.

I just tried installing that. When I did however, none of my movies would play. WMP8 just gave a message saying that it encountered a problem and had to close. :/Originally Posted by El Torro

The video will play fine for me as an Xvid, the audio doesn't seem to work when converted to a MPEG. -
Cool, thanks! I ran that program and it said that it was unable to find an audio codec that will decompress this format. It did mention, however, that DirectShow was able to render sound though.Originally Posted by 0 kewl

Hmmm, have you tried increasing the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader filter's priority to 4 in TMPGEnc Environmental Settings under VFAPI plug-in?

That FINALLY worked! Arghhhhh... after 3 weeks of screwing around with this. The answer was so simple. Thanks again! -
One other thing, does anyone know how to convert WMP9 video files to MPEG? TMPGEnc keeps giving me "invalid or unrecognized format" errors when I try to load a WMP9 video file. Thanks.
