Hi all,
I'm currently doing basic video converting with Avisynth and Virtualdub2
But the rendering of a video takes forever!
This is my setup:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590S CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
16,0 GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit
I know, not the newest PC but it has to do for now.
I want to speed up the rendering of my videos
What kind of affordable setup should i get?
I don't want to spend hunderd of dollars for just a rendering pc.
Thanks!

Most of plugins or scripts for avisynth are very slow, I suppose (I specified "I suppose" since I have an older PC than yours and with less memory too.. and it's really a pain in the ass rendering and doing everything I need.. but I can't afford to buy a new one.. so.. )
They are essentially quite all CPU based.. so the faster the CPU.. the better.. that's for sure.
What I don't know is how they're optimized and how much faster they run on powerful, recent machines .. to give you some valid suggestions and to tell if it's worth the cost of an eventual upgrade or not. -
Make sure you're using a multithreaded build of AviSynt -- like AviSynthPlus. And if you're dealing with HD video you should be using 64 bit AviSynth+.
What filters are you using? -
I just have to ask, how much do you see yourself spending?
Because in all honesty, that "hundred of dollars" is more in line with a pc meant for surfing the web rather than doing any sort of intense video work.
Toy may want to look at eBay and find an off lease server or workstation, something like this:

Dual Xeons, 12C/24T, 64gb ram, just over $500, it's a pretty good deal, don't know anything about the seller though. -
What resolutions does your content have?
How large in file size is our input content?
What filters to you plan to use?
What encoder do you use?
What speeds do you aim for?users currently on my ignore list: deadrats, Stears555, marcorocchini
