    Yea, where is the website?

Probably "HD" DVD-RAM, nothing that will play in a DVD player.

Or is this about double sided DVDR, I do not feel like flipping disc.

Haha, that's pretty funny. I'd hate to see the guy who's such a diehard pirate that he'd pay $25 to pirate a DVD that it would cost $20 to buy.

Seriously, without any confirming evidence (next time post a link) we can assume this is a double-sided DVD-R (which is sortof news since only DVD-RAM has been double sided so far... then again I agree with tony. Having to flip the disc was part of the reason Laserdiscs failed. That and the fact that they were HUGE :). The way DVD-Rs work precludes having a dual layer disc. So there will be no 9.2GB DVD-R discs. You'll have to wait for the next big format for larger discs.

hey earth to everyone dvd-rs can be used for MORE than copying dvds that you rent or buy.. OOOO a new concept.... i think u can actually store data on them... wow... a whole new world lol.. cant a man be curious about things? i hear about a 9.2 gig dvd-r when it wouldnt be the first time someone confused a double SIDED dvd-r for a double LAYERED one.. although it seems odd even a dumbass can find double sided cheaper than 25$.. i think....

I know i'm talking out of my ass since I can't back it up with a link, I stumbled upon it somewere. From what I read it is a true DVD-R. Hitachi will be the first ones to produce it. Dont know if it will play in this generation of set tops or anything. Dont know much else. I thought someone might have more info.

And even if they will cost $25 each you know there is always a way to get them much cheeper.
