Oh, FFS! Wake up Rip VanWinkle, and move into the 21st century finally.
Bite the bullet and move over to a real, modern NLE.- Adobe Premiere
- Avid MediaComposer
- GrassValley/Canopus Edius
- Magix (formerly Sony) Vegas Pro
- Davinci Resolve
- Lightworks
- maybe even Cyberlink PowerDirect might be your speed
And if you retort with whinging about cats again, this will be the last time I EVER give you suggestions. Get a life, man.

Many cat species have gone extinct in history. Adapt or go bye-bye
Did you try hiring a PI to find/stalk the CEO ?
Cats are supposed to be good "hunters", maybe not the ones near extinction
"You can't teach an old dog new tricks" - but you can teach a cat, right ? -
modifying a program... nope there are patents and copyrights
plus eula of most programs forbid reverse engineering...
cased closed -
As long as this idiot insists on this juvenile, stupid, idiotic "I'm a cat" nonsense, I will not help him. In this case, I'm a programmer and might be able to offer some advice.
But I won't. -
How many important database videos you have as project only? Using lower thirds and such? Need videos to export with alpha? Can you export important database footage's with alpha?
While doing the switch you might actually sort out or make your database more clean and more efficient. You perhaps find suitable titles so it would look like your signature titling etc. It might be easier than you think. Who knows. -
I very much doubt that the source code for the Speed Razor NLE and Blade 2 still exists if development ended 15 years ago, especially given that In-sync itself has ceased to exist. It is time to move on to something else.

oh my c*t
but the owner, in theory, should have it. I would like to convince him to give it to me even at any cost.
From single .dll and assembly is not possible to generate the source code? OR in other works without the source code you can not do anything? not even adaptations from
32 to 64bit?!? On the web I have read that a person called Jamie Carr was CEO of the dead In-sync corportation but I can't find any reference to contact him or the programmers
And in all the cases: if a software house dead, the license agreement - from a legal point of view - remains valid in the subsequent years?
and however ... there would be no major reasons, at least in principle, to retain the source code since the product is no longer sold and the manufacturer no longer existsLast edited by marcorocchini; 20th Sep 2019 at 15:52.

only some minor references in the web. Generic search on radaris.com return a possible reference but nothing that return a real contact or email of him.
Another person: Jerry Hergenreder, In-Sync's director of sales and marketing
1 reference to linkedin but nothing to contact him -

but not rebuilding from zero. I need overall do drivers for import/export the new formats: MXF, MP4, MKV ecc.. (avoiding each time to transcode for import clips, even if in batch mode, and for export) and create 64 bit versions of all the assembly: if I don't mistake if you have the source code this is possible. Not easy but tecnically possible

What do you mean if "my footage have a switch for alpha-cat" ?
yes yes that I absolute need to manage the alphacat
need alwais import/export the acat, the "lower thirds" is the "strap" to "name" in graphics, or the bumper in RGBA for example this?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kjrzgoowt8kbybj/alpha.mp4?dl=0 -
Grab a new NLE, some pro version, you can try it first, load your RGBA videos, look where you enable alpha.
Titles you need to make yourself, but you use simple rectangles, solid color with text it them. That is a NLE specific again, but basics, youtube is your friend.
Wiping out those lower thirds (if that is what you use) , that is again some effect. -
If software author never declared it open source, i dont think he will hand over the source code without compensation..its dead move on cat..

I mean if the owner sell to me all the rights (and source code) so I become the new owner. The problem is to contact the owner
-
For how much are you willing to spend ?5 bags of catfood?
Get a life... a real one in fact -
Just convert your source video to uncompressed or losslessly compressed AVI. Virtually every NLE will be able to open that. Or you can frame serve your video via AviSynth and AviSynth Virtual File System. That will make your video look like an uncompressed AVI to any NLE.

Move on and learn how to use a new editor or change careers.
It would not make sense for In-sync's owner to hold onto the complete source code for Speed Razor for 15 years. There would be no hope of selling it to another software company long before now. Speed Razor was already obsolete years ago, and reviving it would become increasingly costly.
That leaves the developers. It is very unlikely that anyone who worked on Speed Razor walked away with personal copies of the entire project after the company went out of business. When the branch office I worked in closed its doors and all the employees were laid off, my supervisor examined what I took with me on my way out the door to make sure that I didn't steal any company property. Even if a programmer kept a copy, that person wouldn't have the legal right to sell or give away the source code. I know this because I used to write software for a living and had to sign away the rights to any code that I wrote as a condition of employment. The company that employed me was the legal owner of everything that I wrote.Ignore list: hello_hello, tried, TechLord, Snoopy329 -
Try the Maryland Secretary of State's office, they should have records of the business including officers and possible law firms. As to who owns the software now that will depend on how the corporation was structured and if the assets were sold when it was dissolved. From a more practical standpoint, if you don't plan on distributing your modified version then you are unlikely to suffer any consequences. In the US at least copyright violations and failure to abide by a license is a generally a civil, not criminal, issue and would require the current owner to bring suit against you.
