  1. Hey all, have a client with 45 mini DVD discs that were never closed/finished. I am close but thought if there may be a better workflow. I am using CDRoller to ingest the video and that saves to VOB files. Videos look fine, but conversions look grainy. Tried various converters with poor results. I also tried Handbrake, RF 0, got a huge file but still not what I call "lossless". Tried Remux but that would only make blu ray AVCHD. Client needs MP4. Any tips?

  2. RF 0 had to be lossless, or there was something wrong during playback, not sure where Handbrake would make a mistake , quantizer zero is zero, lossless, maybe setting command lines so actually encoding was using different color space (not 4:4:4) and chroma subsamling was introduced.

But even that would not help, you need to compress videos and it looks like you need some filtering to be done, so video looks decent/not too big even after compression.
Folks here are very helpful if presenting a short 10 -20 sec. typical scene, what it'd best to do with it.

  3. Little egg on my face today, turns out it was Windows Media Player issue on playback. VLC plays the converted MP4 files fine.
