  1. I am trying to figure out the best way to grab a still frame from an mpeg file. I understand that it will probably have to be an i-frame. does anyone know what software can accomplish this in the least bloatware way?

also, if i have an mpeg still file, does anyone know how I can convert that to a jpeg (or other) file? I imagine the same software that will solve the former will also solve the latter?

    thanks in advance!

you can do this with powerdvd , windvd , tmpgenc

if windvd - just hit the camera button at the frame you want

if tmpgenc - set source range where you want to capture and then file save as frmes .

powerdvd is about the same as windvd

if you want to convert a lot of frames - tmpgenc is the best really, just save as frames
