Cyberghost free would download above but there is no free version now. Anyone know a free vpn that will?. Windscribe or security kiss won't

youtube-dl is working on bbc if you don't use the --all-subs option. Subtitle download is broken and that has been reported, but it still downloads the video ok for me.Originally Posted by Kamala

I used Tubedigger with trial software of Hideallip (to get around the geo-restriction of BBC). With the trial (unless you have some way around the limitation), the software quits after about 30 minutes, and then you
have to restart the software for more time. Interesting thing is, Tubedigger just resumes the downloading automatically, so this 30 minute limitation is not a problem.
Also, interesting thing is that you don't even need to register a free account with BBC to download with Tubedigger. As soon as you paste in the url into Tubedigger (and before you press any "play" arrow), Tubedigger starts downloading.

I will post up some details tmro as out tonite. But I used yt-dl just fine a couple of days ago to DL a few vods from this site. In fact surprisingly it was streamlink that initially failed me, having been successful before. Hence the use of yt-dl as a secondary (but successful) option.

when i used windscribe and a couple others BBC knew it was a vpn. Cyberghost free worked though -

Filter url for "master" to gain the master mpd. Copy request url from right hand side.Can you tell me what is the exact code you are using for the youtube-dl? If there is an m3u8 involved, I think I can get that by myself.

I am finding windscribe works sometimes for BC i player with a UK IP whether i sign in or not. Anyone know why it only works sometimes?

To add to the questions:
When I tried to watch/download the bbc video that you wanted, I found that manually putting many different proxy numbers from
http://spys.one/free-proxy-list/GB/
into the browser did not work. The proxies were fine (able to go to the internet), but couldn't fool the bbc iplayer; kept getting geolocation error (video not available in your area). But as soon as I used Hide All Ip software for UK, I was able to download the video without even signing in to the bbc website. I don't know why that is. -

i was able to download from BBC iplayer with windscribe again today. I think it may depend on how many are using the server as the time you try. If few it may think it is a home but if too many it thinks VPN. I am just guessing as to why it works sometimes and not others
