    can you pause and resume convertxtodvd with keyboard numbers or maybe a letter and number, as I find I cant hardly move the mouse curser when its converting

    What is the spec of your PC? Which OS, which CPU? How much RAM?

    You can certainly use the task manager to set the task to a lower priority (to below normal, for example)

    I've got no idea if there is anything within the program to pause it, but I doubt it.

    EDIT: its ok I have now found out how on youtube. wow its made a lot of difference as now I can move mouse curser. but will it do harm to conversions

    It's a technique that can be used with most user programs in Widnows. Open the task manager/details column hit "name"
    at the top to sort, find your task, right click and select "change priority" , set it to "below normal" or "low"

    It will not affect the quality but it should stop convertX from "hogging" the CPU, allowing you do other things at the same time.
