  1. Hi All,

I have bunch of videos where i would like to add Intro clip at first. I used Avidemux to join them, but it doesnt work. What I know is that for Joining both files, they both have to be very similiar resolution, econding etc.

Infact It will take a long time to encode 1 hour movie,, than encoding 11 second video. I have tried to re-encode my intro video to similar resolution of other file, but somehow i miss the match all settings of video to match with other file. Is there any tool or convertor who can convert video to completely same settings of the other file?

I think there is only resolution the problem. You can append only videos with same resolution f.e. 640x480 etc.

You can use Mediainfo to get the full information about video.

They have to be exactly the same most all times.

What Bernix said, use MediaInfo to compare the two, then change one or the other.

We don't know what codec/format your files are using, but AVIDemux can likely convert the files and join them.

    And welcome to our forums.

  4. Thank you Bernix and redwudz for your suggestions. And yeah,, i am new here

I have made the exact same resolutions too. But i dont get the desired result.

Thats what I am desired to do. I tried to convert with normal converters available to me, and most of them were converting with varying rates like in kbits etc. Can you please suggest me the convertor - easy to use with GUI - and does not vary the values?

I have been into this task since two days Hopefully help of you guys, can make me achieve my target.

    See ya!

If you have same resolution you can use mkvtoolnix GUI. It will merge your videos without reencoding. But it will be *.mkv and not *.avi
Simply load your welcome video, RMB click in source video windows and then choose append (your desired 2nd part)
Then press Start Muxing and it is done. (I hope)

Mkvtoolnix also did not worked. First video plays perfectly and then "play bar" just skip to the the end. While file's size increases and it shows the whole duration. But it just does not play it.

Sorry to ask you, but are you sure you appended these files, not only add as next video track. Try it again if you can, it should work. Open first file, then in source window click with right mouse button and choose append. Select second movie. And then start remux.
As you described it, it behaves like you simply Add files, not append.

  8. Thanks Bernix, You're right. I was doing it wrong (stupidly )

However, now even after appending it, first video plays well and the other gets green with scrumbling audio.

Sorry bro, but not all are expert. I am newbie here and trying to learn this. The Problem with this part is how to completely clone the setting of a video to another one? I have done bit rates, fps, audio/video encoder, resolution but still something gets missed..

  11. Your best bet is to use a smart renderer like TMPGenc Smart Renderer. You can set your long clip as the master and your short clip as a rescue clip. I suspect you can do something similar in VideoReDo.

Matching all parameters exactly is almost impossible.
