Just a couple quick observations at the moment. So far, I feel like I set my money on fire.

SP mode retail cartoon, with Macrovision
On the left is JVC HM-DH5U set to EDIT. The rest are all PV-S4670, run through different devices to see how they handle line TBC when Macrovision is present (specifics are in the filenames). The most obvious TBC issues are the top curl with the AVR-890 and the bottom shift with the DVDR3575H.
Note the "downward smudge" effect on the PV-S4670. Manual lists Color Noise Reduction and "Advanced Noise Reduction" for luma NR.
The dots in the newspaper photo below are smeared away.
EP mode is oversharpened with ragged edges (no sharpness control). That will have to wait for another day, though.
