Hi,
I'm having trouble when playing an .mkv file off a USB with my DV Recorder,
it's a 120 min file, but when it gets to a particular spot at about 105 mins the video pauses but audio continues (always at the same spot), then if I try to fast forward or rewind it seems to jump big section and becomes very hard to get to play again, on a few rare occasions I have managed to randomly press a combination of fast forward and rewind and get the last 20 minutes to play.
Does anybody know what the cause of this might be, if so is there a way I could losslessly fix it?
I've never edited .mkv before, but I see when opening with .mkvtoolnix there are chapters for each song listed (however pressing the skip button on my remote doesn't actually skip to anything, it's just like 1 big 120 min file), could removing the chapters fix this problem?, although the problematic spot where the video pauses and audio continues isn't on a chapter point.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

I guess it works on your computer?
You can try Meteorite.
If that fails try remux it with mkvtoolnix. Add the mkv and make a new one. Maybe remove the chapters.
Or cut out the "bad" part with mkvtoolnix(type in time codes) or with avidemux or solveigmm avi trimmer.Last edited by Baldrick; 19th Oct 2015 at 10:23.
