Hello.
is it possible to extract or show the IR spectrum of an video ? to see through materials.
there is a lot of guides how to make an ir camara with putting a filter on the lence and record.
but my point is that ordinary video allready contains this, the ir filters just only allow ir to be recorded, so it seems that one have a spy x-ray camera. etc etc.
is there a way to edit/ filter out this spectrum ? instead of using a ir filter on the lence...
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

Um, in a nutshell, no
It's not important the problem be solved, only that the blame for the mistake is assigned correctly -
Most consumer-based sensors are tuned to be receptive to only the visible & near-infrared & near-ultraviolet ranges. This doesn't have so much to do with any filtering ahead of the sensor as is on the sensor. To get TRUE infrared, you'd have to get a sensor geared towards scientific visualization (astronomy, thermal, etc). Some who specialize in retrofitting pro cameras have been able to create an extra-spectral cam, but at great cost and they have to have specialized skills and equipment (and this has worked much better for UV than for IR).
Of course you could probably FAKE it well with something like a Deep Red filter attached to a Leica M Monochrom cam.

Which IR?
Check 'night vision' and 'FLIR' - they usually use different materials for sensors.
And if your intention is to see trough materials (like wall) then it is not possible directly (passive way) unless you can accept extremely long exposure time (related to thermal characteristic of the object and).
There are some method to visualize objects behind cover - usually they use radio waves with significantly bigger length than light.
Resolution can be insufficient - not sure what you expect - first shot - check Synthetic Aperture Radar.
(and for IR filter you may try to remove visible light - check this page http://www.lucidscience.com/pro-infrared%20light%20converter-1.aspx - remember to modify your camera - you need to remove IR filter that blocking IR).Last edited by pandy; 28th Sep 2015 at 09:58.

Didn't Sony have a camera that could see through clothes back in 1998? Here's a another camera that can do IR: http://www.kaya-optics.com/

Almost any video camera can work in IR (best are BW cameras).
Usually any CCTV camera have removed IR filter.
To easily verify camera use any IR RCU and press any key https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqh1Wo1bMGA .
