hello. I thought i did this before, but for some reason it's not working. I have a video from youtube. It's 320x240. I put it into the resize filter in virtualdub. It puts black borders around it, but i upsize it to 480x360, for my ipod touch. For some reason, when i preview it, the black borders are not there. I know i have to use xvid4psp or something to encode it in .mp4 format for my ipod touch. Anyone wanna help out? I understand to use the Lanczos3 when upsizing. Yes, i acknowledge the black borders are going to be there, but it's not going to really lose quality with them there. It's just going to look a tad smaller because of those borders. Anyone wanna help out?

  2. If the source video has not black borders the resized video will have no borders if you use the top part of VirtualDub's resize filter dialog (sizing options). If you use the bottom part of the dialog (framing options) the video will be letterboxed and/or pillarboxed to fill out the requested frame size. You can also use some combination of the two.

If your player doesn't have a 4:3 screen it may add letterbox or pillarbox borders to maintain the video's aspect ratio. So even a video with no black borders may appear with black borders on your player.
