  1. i have been trying to capture in virtua dub with my ati all in wonder 8500dv but i keep getting no sound whatsoever. i tried all suggestions found on this forum and the virtualdub website, except on their website they said something about my sound card might need to be connected to my capture card, but i dont think thats the case. i adjusted the recording volume but that didnt help. im using composite input from a digital cable box, it works fine with the ati software but the ati software doesnt have the options and such i want. any suggestions? thanks in advance!

Where are your audio cables connected ? Just checked ATI website for setting up your card and you need to connect the audio out from the ATI card to the line in on your sound card. If that is connected you will need to go to your Volume control settings, click on options, and properties. From there click on the recording radio button. Look in the box below and ensure you have Line In checked. Click OK on the properties box and now the recording volume controls can be adjusted.

  3. thanks for the reply. i do have the ati aiw connected to my sound cards line in and the sound works fine in the regular ATI software when capping but not for virtual dub. i even thought it might have been my composite cables, i changed virtual dubs source to the tv tuner and im still not getting any sound whatsoever, i dont get it because the sound works great in the ati program and now its non existent in vdub... i tried the recording volumes but they were already fine, any other suggestions?

Need a little more info, what sound card do you have? Is it a expansion card or is it built on the motherboard? I had one built on the the MB and it would not work when capturing. Had to go buy an expansion card.
May the force be with you.

  5. i have no idea what my sound card is, im pretty sure its not a soundblaster or anything because my computer didnt come with any special software for the soudn, so im guessing its on the motherboard. but the thing is i do get sound when capturing, just not on the vdub program, i dont see why virtual dub cant just take the composite stereo signal and use it.
