  1. Greetings,

I am brand newbie looking for some inexpensive video editing software (hopefully lower than $100).

Ideally, I would like something quite simple to use with the ability to add some trippy effects, perhaps some split screen as well. I need to have a finished format of MP4.

Like I said, I am very new to editing, although I have used music production softwares, so the simpler to use the better.

    Thank you very much

PS - here is the type of laptop that I have.

    ASUS Laptop R510DP-FH11 AMD A-Series A10-5750M
    (2.50GHz) 8GB Memory 750GB HDD
    AMD Radeon HD 8670M
    2GB 15.6" Windows 8 (64 bit)

Suggest you go out and try the free stuff to learn the procedures and language.

There is no one, magic, simple program that does it all.

    Good luck !!!!

  4. Completely agree with aedipuss, Vegas Movie Studio is best in class for NLEs in that price range -- Premiere Elements and Pinnacle Studio would also be in that group.

    Bend,

I did actually try to get a free program. I tried to dl Lightworks and I ended up getting a virus in my computer.

I don't want to have to go through that again so I was just hoping to get a recomendation on a few simple to use inexpensive programs.

    Smrpix,

Thank you. I clicked on pinnacle and it seemed to have some pretty bad reviews on that link.
