    Hi,
Im a noob of sorts, mostly used Windows movie maker, tried my hand at the sony one but found it a little over bearing.

I generally just want to do simple things which is why i use WMM, but it does let me down time to time and feels restricted. (cant handle some AVI's)

Like now, i want to remove the Audio from a VOB file.

I have the DVD, copied all its contents on to the HDD, and i am left with 5 Vob files, (1 is the main menu) 2 x BUP and 2X IFO

I tried WMM, but that wont delete the audio.

Did a Goole, came across VOB blanker, ran it, saved it to a new folder, but it was no diffrent.

Then i saw a thread on here:
    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/343623-Best-Program-to-Remove-Audio-from-VOB-and-in...-another-Audio

I DL it, installed it, and it seems like a good programme, but i cant see where i can get rid of the whole sound track?

So a quick easy way to strip the audio, so i can then join the rest of the vobs in WMM with my own music.

Also, and this leads from my first part, is there a good Video editor i can get at a reasonable price? That would be a bit better than WMM?

How about the part where it said:

Extract the video and audio from your dvd with pgcdemux.
It will separate the DVD into its various parts (video, audio, chapters, subs, if any). The M2V you get is the video. Take the DVD-compliant audio you've created and reauthor the DVD using Muxman (also suggested in the link).

If you're not making a DVD then perhaps let us know what the end result is to be.

Have some patience with the Sony (Movie Studio.) It's good. It's cheap. And this is a very simple task once you know how to use it.

I got a bit confused... but i did as you suggested and it worked a treat. Thanks alot for that.
I downloaded PgcDemux, loaded the DVD into the drive, selected to rip the Video stream, did it flawlessly in hardly any time.
My Mum had a DVD made with a heap of old home movies compiled. The guy put on some average music she did not like, so she asked if i could remake them, so i now have thanks to you. After Demux i put the back into WMM and added some nice music. and now buring the DVD.

I might give Sony another go... i heard good reviews, but i just could not get into it as easy.

  5. I don't know what you need Windows Movie Maker for but, okay, glad it's working for you now. By the way, ImgBurn is the preferred way to burn DVDs to disc once you've finished creating them.
