Hi,
I record video for a video blog I would like to know why the audio in the below clip sounds very full and rich like Howard Stern. Is it a characteristic of the person's voice or the kind of equipment used?
Thank you

Most important is close placement of the mic. Then a mic that can pick up low frequencies. Of course, the person's voice has to have low frequencies for the mic to pick up.

To get the effect use a good condenser mic, sit close to it, use a pop filter, and run a "radio voice" setting in your favorite voice processor.

 I personally like Nectar 2:

Of course there is no problem making your voice sound good but do you really need that radio voice fakery?

To be honest, I probably do not need it

The thing is I am new at this .. I am using an inexpensive clip on mic and recording the sound on my laptop. After that I use audacity for noise removal and add some effects I found on the internet.

The results are not good. I was curious how they make the sound so full and rich on those shows. But if I can get the best out of my cheap equipment I would be very happy at the moment but since I do not even know how to diagnose what is wrong with the audio it is difficult to fix it.

Well the best bang for the buck is to get an inexpensive consenser mic.

For instance a low end MXL with a good table mic stand and a pop filter.

 Something like this:

It sets you back about $150.

Obviously it is not high end and there are many alternatives but you should be able to get a decent sound from it.

With respect to noise removal, a quit room beats any noise removal program.

A free hint for a quit room: go to the library and use one of those study boxes!
