  1. I am on windows 7 64bit, I use videolan to watch movies but they freeze so much when i want to go to a certain part of move to check things. it will play after a while but takes ages to restart playing each time so dam annoying I am not running anything on PC while checking movies

    As far as I know, there is no single media player that everyone would agree is the best. MPC-HC and Pot Player are well liked.

    Try turning on the fast seek option. That gives you fast seeks to the nearest key frame.

  7. If you'd like to try a different player, there's MPCBE. I've found it to seek better than MPCHC, and there's an option to enable navigation timeline preview pane popup. The player is overall a bit more forgiving too. Otherwise, it's very similar to MPCHC.
