I know the ATI AIW Radeon 8500 can capture more than 352 x 288. In fact, when I use the MMC software to capture, I can capture at 720x480 perfectly fine. But when I capture using VirtualDub or AVI_IO, it uses a "Video Format - Stream Settings" tab that only gives me the option of capturing up to 352 x 288. I'm using MMC 7.6, do I need to upgrade my MMC software to be able to capture at 720x480 with my video card? What's the deal, why does it capture correctly with the MMC software but not in the settings for VirtualDub or AVI_IO (which are using the same set of drivers for their information).

Any suggestions from anyone? I want to upgrade to the newest version of the software, but don't want to screw myself by doing this. Some posts say upgrade, some posts say downgrade... plus I'm especially confused because posts say they after phasing out larger captures of some cards to get people to purchase Radeon cards. I have a Radeon card, so I'm especially confused what I should do. Please, any advice anywhere??

I think you will need to use generic Brook Tree drivers to get anything higher than X x 288 in Virtual dub.

Ati drivers, WDM Wrapper for Win98, XP just needs MMC, now that's for an AIW 128 pro but Radeon should be the same.
