Hello!
I've just started to discover Adobe Encore for blu-ray authoring and I really start to like it. I've got a problem with loading subtitles though. I have Polish subtitles (ISO 8859-2 ASCII) and I would like to load them with the special characters in adobe encore. Encore seems not be able to load the subtitles in ASCII format (and yes I've converted them first to Adobe Encore text format using Subtitle Workshop) but only manages to load UTF-8 / UTF-16 and Unicode where my "polish-characters" get all wrong
How can I fix this?
Thankfull for all answers

Tried convert your ISO 8859-2 subs to utf-8 before loading in encore? With for example http://www.motobit.com/util/charset-codepage-conversion.asp or some text editor.

You can use notepad... File -> Save as: Choose UTF-8 as encoding
- ANSI/ASCII are so yesterday

I've tried to save them as UTF8 (save my subtitles again from notepad (there was some weird bug with notepad++ the subtitles won't get loaded when I changed the format to UTF8 there) ) though when I open them up in adobe encore my special characters such as "ą" are still missing
EDIT: I solved my problem, I was in notepad ++ pressing "code in UTF-8" instead of "convert to UTF-8" silly me ^^.
Also there was an error with one character all the others got correct without that one (š instead of ą) so I looked up the encoding for polish language and I found out that both ISO-8859-2 and Windows-1250 works for my language...I changed from ISO-8859-2 to Windows-1250, converted the file to UTF-8 again and voilá it worked perfectly!!Last edited by michcio; 24th Jan 2012 at 14:57.

I found another weird bug while converting my srt/frame subtitles into adobe encore text script format in subtitle workshop...I've the lines:
Code:{3809}{3916}/słodką Molly Malone, {3920}{4035}/jak swą taczkę toczyła
Code:13 00:02:32,300 --> 00:02:36,600 /słodką Molly Malone, 14 00:02:36,800 --> 00:02:41,400 /jak swą taczkę toczyła
Code:00:02:32:07 00:02:36:14 /słodką Molly Malone, 00:02:36:19 00:02:41:10 /jak swą taczkę toczyła

Positive points for being pedantic and correcting spelling mistakes, although getting the accent direction wrong is much less of a sin than the usual stuff like prolly, your vs. you're, it's vs. its, should of (it's "should've" which is a contraction of "should have") and so on.
Negative points for pointless grave robbing. Boring day for you, Newrone?
I'll call it a wash. -
