	source comparison wbem 70mb vs mp4 37mb
same video same lenght, which one is likely to be the highest quality

 from this page here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7Y25dMVjh0

i am totally unfamiliar with webm format and encoding quality

	As per the Webmproject.org site:
VP8 is supposed to be equivalent to h.264 or VC1, but I doubt it is quite as efficient as h.264. Not a big fan yet..."WebM defines the file container structure, video and audio formats. WebM files consist of video streams compressed with the VP8 video codec and audio streams compressed with the Vorbis audio codec. The WebM file structure is based on the Matroska container."

yeah, i always seem to bad luck with converting MKV files to other formats, especially dvd
i quit trying several years ago
just trying to decide whether its worth the trouble to DL the supposely high quality larger webm vs the mp4 file

i'm leaning towards sticking with the mp4 files, i think the webm is not going to be worth the extra DL time and extra conversion effort

i DL freemake and tried too install it

it would not install on my Win-8 machine, maybe because i unchecked all adware/toobar boxes
or maybe because my machine won't tolerate it

the install just hung and did not open the window, after declining the adware

i had too use control panel to clear the process, that seemed to be in limbo

oh well.. i'll stick to mp4 videos when Dling

I also see a mp4 and 3gp file but the vid playing on Youtube has black artifacts.

-
yes, i found video drop out black artifacts in several of the segments

the the large version webm has no 'drop out' artifacts, although it seems to have some kind of minor 'interlace' or similar issue

but its being a pita to convert to mpg2 or mp4, i'm tired of fooling with it

SUPER will process it but the results have sporadic blockiness, then frames of perfect clarity then more pixelated blockiness

Install this Script. I believe it's a Greesemonkey script (if you're using Firefox). I don't remember... It's called Youtube HD Suite. It automatically plays the best quality file (it's never WebM) and gives links to all the available downloads for the video that you're watching.

 http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/39167

There are steps on the page to add it to Chrome since Chrome doesn't use Greesemonkey. It has it's own built-in scripting engine.

DVDstyler took the webm file processed it and created a DVD folder

while the file is initially a higher res, the quality IS NOT

also it has the same interlace issues as the exhibited by the 'complete' mp4 version

the 'segmented' mp4 parts still provide the sharpest clearest image, i just wish they did not have the 'white' overload 'video drop out' issue

thanks for all the help, i think this project is in the finished box
