Hey wondering if ya might help me out here.

I'm working with an old lite-on 5002 dvd recorder. All the disks I've tried to play wont work.

Which brand of DVD+R/+RW can you use with this recorder?

The manual doesn't specify, but I gather the model is very choosy (thats when it is working ok)

Anyone worked with this dvd recorder before?

    Thanx

    D

My father used to have a Lite On DVD recorder, but I don't remember the model. He uses Verbatim DVD+RW exclusively and they worked fine for him. Verbatim DVD+R should be fine too. Not sure about in Ireland, but in the USA/Canada Verbatim sells a cheap line of discs called the Life series (these are NOT the same as DataLifePlus, which is top notch) and you should avoid those.

    It cannot do dual layer.

My dad never tried dual layer. Most DVD recorders actually can't burn DL discs so I'd advise following OldMan64's advice and not trying it.
