    Hey

    After trying to capture old 8mm tapes through my dazzle into Pinnacle Studio, I found the results to be fairly dissapointing. The Outcome has lead me to the conclusion that capturing through a dvd recorder is best with less compression and generational losses. This is largly due to reading peoples reviews on this site.

    I realise however that capturing through your PC can be improved through using various applications. I read the sticky and have become confused as to the best method of doing this.

    I have decided to try capturing through my DVD recorder and herein the problem lies;

    I own a Lite-On LVW 5002, built in 2005 I took it out of storage for this project. As far as I'm aware you need the remote control to enter set-up and thus record. I have no remote, and after downloading the manual I became aware that you need the remote as there is no way of entering set-up manually on the dvd player.

    So can you see my problem.

    I found a technika tr41r 4in1 remote, but can't find the manual anywhere on the web to locate the codes. I got as far as finding the codes for a tv set for a similar model. I've attached this manual pdf as I realise I'm not the only one faced with this problem. Technika cant be bothered to make these manuals available on the net.

    I understand if I do get the codes for the remote - it may not have the button programmed to open set-up.

    I suppose my question is ;
    Without the remote control, is there anyway of recording DVDs with the Lite-On DVD recorder?

    Thanking You for any assistance at-all.

  2. If it's an RM-51 remote control (as used on the 5006) I have on here you are welcome to if you repay the postage. I no longer have the recorder so it's been collecting dust for a while but it should still work.
