The idea to control how many times per day should be video played is kind of useless. When you have just 5 items in the list....... .
Please, realize, all the time I am talking about THOUSANDS of videos. (Just during the first week I am going to add the first thousand of videos. But during the next years I am going to add hundreds of thousands of videos, even!). That's why, that "some ranting" of how many times to repeat each single video would be VERY USEFUL.

So, please, let's NOT talk about 5 or 3 items. I said, this is a Test Playlist (with 3 items) so that we can make the ELEMENTARY /basic testing of the codes.

For example, the "sharing link": I had to put back that previous code because your last code does NOT show the singers's links. It WAS showing my singingtv's link that I do NOT want to be showed! (Maybe I had should to add the links into your last code? I do not know where in the code.)

Right now, what you see on:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

is OK = it shows the singers' links. That's what I want!!! to promote the beginning unknown talented singers' channels! (NOT my singingtv.)

But there's VERY SERIOUS some other kind of problem:

When you play the player (try it):

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

When you play some videos that you've NEVER played there before, you have to wait many seconds before the video starts to play, because in the middle of the video, there's a small circle (a ring) that is turning. After it has stopped, it starts to play. This one is repeated many times during each NEW video. Do you know what I mean??? But if I already was playing a video before, I do not need to wait, any more! Do you know what I mean??? I guess this problem is called; "buffering" or "bandwidth"????

I think this problem cannot be on my side of my computer because when I play any NEW video on YouTube, all the NEW videos play IMMEDIATELLY without any need of the waiting!

I guess the problem could be on the side of the hosting site: 3owl.com where I have my singingtv. Perhaps they have tooo slow "Bandwidth" or some other technical small number of something.... (I do not understant these technical terms! So I just am guessing...)

Or, perhaps, the problem is with JWplayer ????!!! Maybe there is an option of the technical settings in the code of the JWplayer????

    Further more:

When I play some concrete videos, they always stop at an exact time, and the small circle (a ring) starts to turn. But the videos NEVER continue! The videos always are terminated at that concrete time.

    For example:

Singer: Melinda (song: Skyscraper) always terminates at 2:28 even though this is not the end of the video!
Singer: Wandy (song: Bleeding Love) always terminates at 2:13 even though this is not the end of the video!

This problem was happening also with video: Singer Crystal (song: Flowers), but after I, made some changes (exchanging the codes, again uploading the videos, etc..), after these changes, the video is playing very OK.

On the other hand, those two videos were playing perfectly without that terminating, before I made those changing.

So, what's the problem about that small circle (a ring) that starts to turn in the middle????

Please, check out the videos and the player on this address:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

  2. -ok, did not noticed before, that script for random shuffle somehow disables sharing link functionality

    - I did not experience buffering problems (loading circle ) as you experienced, I tested my long playlists, cash cleared, it takes definitely less than half seconds to load any clip, it is more like server thing , it had some problems, just some coincident that it was better after you changed your code.
I tested your link, it loads and plays fine to the end with or without shuffle script.

  3. So, you are saying when you play ALL the 3 videos on this my address:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

ALL the videos play to THEIR ENDS??? (Not terminate before their ends???) Did you REALLY play ALL THE VIDEOS TO THEIR ENDS????

If there is NO such problem when you play them, it means, the problem should be on my side. So I am happy!

P.S. What browser do you use? Maybe the browsers make the problem....?

I just need to be 100% sure, the problem is on my side ONLY, not the general problem. After I would be sure 100%, I could start to add the thusands of videos.

I remember I used to have the same problem with some live internet TV. However, on their player was that sign of "toothed wheel" so that people can change the quality:

    Quality
    1080p HD
    720p HD
    480p
    360p
    240p
    Auto

After I changed the quality for a lower quality, the problem was solved! Maybe this my current problem is the same problem I used to have on that different player where I was watching some live TV?

Do you know, is it possible to include into the code the sign of "toothed wheel" (the option of the quality) so that people can change the quality? Maybe this one will solve the problem!

By the way, two different questions:

    1) In the current time, the address of the PUBLIC page of my singingtv, where I have the player with the videos, is:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

Of course, this address is crazily tooo long. I've heard, I could change this address for a nice and short address like this:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com

if I change some words in the CODE.
Do you know how I should change the code to have the JW player with my videos on this public page???:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com

    2) When you move a cursor into the right hand corner of the player, you see word: "Share" and the "share sign". My question is:

Is it possible to exchange the word: "Share" with a sentence (for example):

"IF YOU LIKE THIS SINGER, CLICK HERE TO SEE A LINK TO HER CHANNEL TO SUBSCRIBE TO HER HOME CHANNEL AND SEE MORE HER VIDEOS !!! "

    ???

I guess, it should be possible if we include this sentence into the code (if we replace the word: "Share" (and also maybe that "share sign" (that I do NOT need to be on the videos)), with the sentence.) I just don't know what way to do it....

  7. jwplayer has one ready to use free plugin that offers HD on and HD off quality, so you have basically choices only for two streams. Not sure if this is enough for you. I use it. It works well.

you call this free plugin by this within yoru jwplayer script:
    Code:
    'plugins': {  'hd-2': {}   }
and then simply within xml you add one line for each video item:
    Code:
    <jwplayer:hd.file>/videos/your.higher .quality.version.Skyscraper.flv</jwplayer:hd.file>
so your whole xml for one item could be:
    Code:

Melinda Ademi Skyscraper by Demi Lovato (Cover)

... whatever description ...

             <jwplayer:image>/videos/Melinda.jpg</jwplayer:image>
             <jwplayer:file>/videos/Skyscraper.flv</jwplayer:file>
             <jwplayer:hd.file>/videos/your.higher .quality.version.Skyscraper.flv</jwplayer:hd.file>

name your web page index.html and it will work,
browsers choose this one automatically for this one first if you do not state concrete page name,
well I think they pick up index.php first , but if it is not there ...

  8. Thank you so much. I will try the "HD" option for those 3 videos to find out whether the videos will be playing better without the stopping / terminating before their ends. However, when I will have there thousands of videos, it will be tooo much hard work to be adding this one to EACH video.

(To make simpler work for such huge number of videos, I even will NOT be creating the pictures of the videos, I even will not be writing the names of the videos / singers (just I will write there: 1,2,3,4,5, etc...instead of the names of the singers / songs) = yes, I will cancel the playlist, so that I can be adding the thousands of videos more quickly when I do NOT have any simple INTERFACE for adding videos.

(The playlist, anyway, will NOT show the LAST PLAYED songs so that viewers can find some concrete video in the playlist. Without the "LAST-PLAYED-videos-playlist" they never can find some concrete video in the playlist to find out the details about the video when there will be thousands of videos there. That's why the playlist will be for nothing = shit, anyway.) Anyway, the playlist I really do not need when I already am able to put the "sharing link" directly on each video

(Viewers will be able to find out all the details of the videos if they use the "share link" to the singers' home channel on YouTube.)

    That's why my question is:

Is it possible to put some special word(s) to make the "HD option" into the HTML code for ALL the videos, generally, instead of to write the special words for EACH video into the xml code, to make my work more simpler, when I will be adding thousands of videos without any simple interface????

You name that page index.html because IT HAS TO HAVE some name.
But if you do not include name of the page in the browser , using this: http://singingtv.3owl.com, then index.html page will be loaded automatically. That's how it always work.

After this one was not working, I made another change. Also in html code. THis change:

Videos

TEST PLAYLIST

But I could not check it out because the player was not working AT ALL, after that.

I think, somebody from 3owl has been making some changes on their hosting server where I do have my this web site. So, we have to wait for tomorrow, at least. Because, several hours, ago, I even could NOT login into this my website to start to work on some changes. I sent them an email message asking them why I cannot login. They replied they are looking at the problem. After while, it was repaired and I could login, again. But I sent them another email, asking them, I want my player could be on:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com

    NOT on:

    http://singingtv.3owl.com//test%20playlist.html

That's why, PERHAPS, it does not work, at all, now, in spite of the fact I put there back all the working codes (html and xml) I had there before I did the changes. Because, perhaps, they have been making some changes there, now.

  11. You have to get (or download from youtube, not sure how you get those videos), you have to get that HD quality file. It certainly will NOT have the same name as I stated in that line, I have no idea how you name it
You are going to give it a name AND you have to have that file also in your video folder. Jwplayer cannot generate any video.

That goes for xml file , BUT you have to also tell jwplayer to generate that HD on/off switch in video, you have to watch for syntaxes, parentheses and commas, I put here the whole thing to be sure:
    Code:

Videos

TEST PLAYLIST

There must be a way for you to create index.html, whatever html editor you use try to load that test page.html and find save as and save it as index.html. Or create new page and give it a name index.html

  12. I've tried, now, to put htere all the changed codes (xml, html) according to your advice above, BUT without the HD file. Yes, it does not work. I will try to get HD file, tomorrow. (But the problem is I should get LOWER quality (not higher) so that the videos do not stop/terminate before they finish. (That ring-in-the-middle-problem.)

Also, I changed the names: "test playlist.html" for "index.html"

But NO positive result (The player was NOT where I want to be: http://singingtv.3owl.com )

Now, I put everything back how it was yesterday. But it does not work at all. Maybe people from 3owl are making some changes on the hosting server. I'll wait for tomorrow.

Right now, I've found out, there is a diffrent text on this address:
    http://singingtv.3owl.com )

But I did not make any changes like this. Probably people from 3owl are working there....

  13. I was there tried to fix it but site was down , couldn't finish it, now it is all right

I added share plugin and HD on/of plugin into html so you just upload there your hd file and then fix xml to put there correct name for that hd file.

  14. I've been reading, now, this one, because this is my current the same (SERIOUS) problem:

    Have a look here:
    http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/bug-reports/10594/video-keeps-bu...very-5-10-secs

"......I'm having a problem with ...I'm having a problem with the video taking forever to load, then when it loads and buffer, plays for a little bit then begins pause and buffer then play, and so on..
    This happens the WHOLE time..
I'm wondering, what do I need to do in order to get the buffering to stop so I may watch the video in full?........."

    _____________
After I finish the reading, I'll upload the HD videos to make those changes to find out whether it helps....
    _____________

THis is interesting what the say there:

    "......
Ye, buffering is annoying, it's either to do with your own connection, or to do with the bandwidth of the server that the video is been hosted on. If you're on a static connection then it's got to be the server that the video is hosted on and the amount of people using it. (********, they should all **** off when i want to watch a video!!!!)
    **** them all!!.........."

Well, because I do NOT have any such problem when I am watching videos on YouTube, I guess this problem is not about my internet connection but the problem is about the bandwidth of the server that the video is been hosted on. In my case on: 3owl.com. But on the other hand, almost NOBODY is watching the videos on my singingtv.3owl.com, now, because it is quite new and not finished, yet. So....it should NOT be the "bandwidth problem," either. It is really very strange problem....I don't know....

are the best quality I can get. But, anyway, JW Player should also play the videos that are not HD. Or JW Player only is for HD? I don't think so...

  16. If it helps you, I said it before , It loads and plays your videos without buffering, the whole length overhere.
It is perhaps a local problem or some problem with your internet provider, local throttle, maybe your home setup who knows.

Bitrate of your video , downloaded one, is 400kbps to 600kbps mostly, occasionally it wanders to 1000kbps or slightly more. So how is your download speed? You can check with your internet provider or here http://www.speedtest.net/

  17. HERE'S THE RESULT OF THE TEST:

    http://www.speedtest.net/result/2277934824.png

    Download speed: 12.56 Mb/s

I think the problem is about JW Player because when I watch ANY videos on YouTube = NO PROBLEM !!!
When I watch some live TV (for example: LIVE BBC on Internet) = NO PROBLEM !!!

I changed the xml code according to your instruction and I uploaded there this one:

    But the problem still exists
Pleeeeease, can you do me a favour?:
    Pleeeeease, open my singingtv here:

    http://www.singingtv.3owl.com/

and watch all 3 videos to their ends so that you can see whether any video will terminate before it is finished. (You do not need to physically watch them, just run this page,:

    http://www.singingtv.3owl.com/

mute the sound, minimize the window, work on some other your work on some other window, but come back to that window:
    http://www.singingtv.3owl.com/

in several minutes later to check it out whether the video is stopped=buffering, or has been playing.
Pleeeeeease do this so. So that we can be sure whether the problem is on my side, only, or it is a general problem. I saw complaining about the same problem by some man about his video on JW Player. I had a look at his video. HE WAS RIGHT !!!: HIS video on HIS page ON JW PLAYER was making the same problem when I was watching it. Here is its address:
    http://www.barriej.com/player/newyork2.html
So, we can see that's a general problem, not only his.

But, pleeeeease, to be quite sure, check it out on my page like I said:
    http://www.singingtv.3owl.com/

  18. You download speed is enough.

You still have to download your hd file into videos folder and correct the name in the playlist.

    see this line:

    <jwplayer:hd.file>/videos/your.higher .quality.version.Skyscraper.flv</jwplayer:hd.file>

Do you actualy have a file named your.higher. quality.version.Skyscraper.flv in your videos folder? I'm not sure that you understand. You have to upload that file overthere. You have to encode it (lower wuality) or downloaded from you tube as lower quality file.

If that new file has lower quality then you have to use current video Skyscraper.flv for hd file and that new one as a normal file.

  19. I powered up Pentium4 , 2.4 GHz and it plays all right, CPU gets 100%, video was all right, just some skipped frames but sound was never interrupted, so ilusion was fluent, smooth, and that was at the same time when firewall decided to update at the same time

No, I do not understand you quite.
All the videos that are there, now, cannot have any different quality because I cannot get any their different quality. = I cannot upload there any their HD (better) files. What is there, now, is ALL what I do have.

If you mean, just to change their names (their lines), I will do it.

    P.S.
So, you are saying ALL the videos were playing to their ends? OK, the problem probably is not quite general for all the viewers. But I see, many people have the same problem with JW Player on their pages, even though they say their computer and connection quite is OK. That's why I would like to solve the problem, anyway, because I do not want this problem will be happening to many of the future viewers of my singingtv.

    yes

NO, you have to upload that different file, and use that name in xml list. If you do not have different file (lower quality) then you cannot do it, meaning using that HD plugin.

    What different files?
I only have what you see there.

I can change the names anyway you want but the files I do not have other ones. Because what the singers uploaded I only do have. I cannot ask thousands of the future/current singers to upload better quality videos/files......

I am not sure whether we understand to each other...

  23. If you have only one stream for each video then you forget about streaming two streams. Higher and lower quality.

Naturally, if you want to stream for example two or three streams, or in a case of YouTube even more, those streams have to be downloaded on a server. They have to exist.

  24. .

    It was misunderstanding!:

I did NOT know how to get the HD videos. I though the singers have to shoot the videos with HD video-camera, again, for me.
But, today later, I realized I can use "converting software" to get HD version of the videos. Well, I did so, now.

Well, I uploaded there HD versions for each video of those 3 ones and changed their names according to your instruction.

    The result is this:

All the videos DO play HD version! That's OK. But there are some other serious problems:

    - When the HD versions play, they play withOUT any sound!!!!!
    - The HD versions, do NOT finish to their ends, they do not stop but they skip to another video, without finishing to their ends.

Low quality videos play sound but they have the same problems like before:

    - They always stop for ever at exact same times:

    "FOREVER-STOPPING-TIMES":
    Melinda (Skyscraper) 2:34
    Crystal (Flowers): 1:15
    Wandy (Bleeding Love): 1:22

    By the way:

But, on YouTube, all the versions for each video, are made automatically with a software. People do NOT upload there versions for each video.
Now, I realized, I have to do those versions, manually, because I do not have on my singingtv, the automatic software.

But, anyway, the problem is NOT solved:
The videos do NOT finish to their ends no matter what version of the qualities we use.... We are on the beginning of the problem, again.

  25. I do not know what to answer, check my #49 response, it works here on any PC even older, any browser, XP or win7

You CANNOT create higher quality version out of you regular video it doesn't make any sense.

Usually you have original and you encode with lower bitrate for normal quality and then you encode with higher bitrate settings to get higher quality and then you upload those files for streaming.

If you do not have original you have to get higher quality version from the web again, you are not going to make it yourself.

If you cannot get any file again there is only one thing you can do and that is to encode only worse quality from what you,ve got. Not the other way.

But what you actually did is even weird because your video, what you've got, is flv with H.263 codec aka flash, which is good for playback on older machines, doesn't need a powerful PC for playback. And you encode your file to H.264 codec aka mpeg4-avc which asks for much more power and the quality is even worse. Makes no sense I hope you realize that, that what you did was just for testing purposes.

  26. .

Please, can you put here the link to your website where you have videos on JW Player, so that I chan check it out whether YOUR videos on YOUR websites on JW Player can play OK or NOT OK on my computer????

(Yes, you are right: I converted those video with the converting software to: FLV - Flash H.264 video.)

What way I can download those videos to get better quality? Yes, I can download them again, but the result will be the same, or not?

Or do you mean I should DIRECTLY ask those singers for their videos so that I can get the condition of the videos BEFORE they uploaded them on YouTube? (But that's not technically possible to ask thousands of people to do so.)

  27. The first link:
The first link is about HD videos. I really am NOT interested in HD videos. I just thought the problem with the stopping playing the videos will be resolved if I put there the HD videos. But the problem was not resolved. So, I really am NOT interested in the HD videos, any more.

    The second link:
That's about playlist. How to add new videos. This topic will not resolve the problem about the stopping playing the videos.

    O.K., but there's a logical question:

Why I can watch any videos on YouTube withOUT any problem, but NOT on my singingtv?

There are only two logical answers?:

    1) The problem is made with the JW PLAYER (YouTube uses a diffrent (better system of) player).

    2) The problem is made with the hosting site (3owl.com where I have my singingtv). It means YouTube's equipment have better performance for YouTube's player.

I am going to try some other web hosting site to find out whether the problem is made with the 3owl hosting site or not. Do you know about some other web hosting site where they offer everything UNLIMITED for FREE like 3owl.com?

IN SPITE OF THE FACT I KNOW MY OPERATING SYSTEM (Windows Vista) IS IN A BAD CONDITION, (when I watch my singingtv with Windows 7= almost no problem), THERE'S A VERY SERIOUS LOGICAL QUESTION:

Why I can watch any videos on YouTube withOUT any problem, but NOT on my singingtv?

  29. OK, the problem is on my side. Let's believe thousands of viewers will not complain to me about the same problem (in the future) (because I think their softwair will not be in the good condition, either, but in spite of this fact, YouTube will be working very well for them.....that's a mystery....))

Now, I am going to cancel the HD, playlist and the images so that I can be ONLY adding easier (faster) thousands of beautiful singing videos.....

Before I will start adding new videos, I will try to find some simple interface so that selected singers (after I tell them a password) could be adding their videos by themself...

    I found this link:

    http://workbookproject.com/newbreed/2010/06/21/build-your-own-vod-portal/

I put as keywords into the Google, this:
insert video interface password codes JW
    upload video code in php
    upload video codeigniter

organize/manage/store your files on JW Player

This is an interesting code. Just to little bit change it for JW Player....:
