  1. Are the extra cells a bad thing? I used to have three layer break options in ImgBurn and PGCEdit, I now have dozens, which is a good thing when you have to be fairly picky with where you put it (although since Encore works for non-chapter LBs, and chapters will always be an option in ImgBurn & PGCEdit should they fall within the bounds of where the LB can be, it shouldn't be too much of an issue). That's the only effect I can see, at least.

Normally, no. They are just useless. Of course, let's hope there are no other bugs in the VOBs, as otherwise, they may become a problem. Verify if there is no pause when you play them on your standalone player.

Don't forget to set the seamless flag on the cell Encore has selected for the LB (cell 18 in your example), if you select another one in ImgBurn (or if you want to use the Seamless Layer Break ImgBurn option), as otherwise, an useless pause will remain on that cell.

  3. Yeah, I un-non-seamlessed the selected cell with PGCEdit, set the cell I want to use as non-seamless, then burned with ImgBurn, and it worked fine. The usual hang at the layer break, but nowhere else.

Hang means pause, right? (For me, hang means freeze completely.) A pause of max 2 seconds is normal. And, if you want to remove it, try the Seamless Layer Break option. (IIRC, that option is only visible when you select the layer break after having clicked the Burn button. It is not present when you select the LB just to verify if there is enough space on the disc.) If your player is recent enough (or if it can play XviD AVI, MPEG or MKV files), it should support the seamless LB perfectly.

  5. Yeah, it's just a pause. I'd rather not fiddle with seamless breaks, though; my player isn't the most versatile in the world.
