    Help-

Is it possible to re-create a playlist, use another cam's playlist, or software to recombine all .mts files in a directory into a seamless stream?

I copied the .mts files from "STREAM" and the .cpi files from "CLIPINFO" but forgot the .mpl files from "PLAYLIST" when making an archive.

How can I re-combines the 7 .mts files into one video without gaps?

    Thanks-

    Thanks wulf109

So i have tried demuxing the 7 .mts files with TSmuxer set not to split... but i still get lots of files on output that vegas doesn't want to import as a single video clip.

Next I created a .ts file, that vegas and VLC just crashed on loading, then i tried the "AVCHD disk" option, that vegas found no video inside, and vlc crashed upon trying to play the 15GB file.

I feel like i wasted a day trying this out, because nothing worked.

I would appreciate any further instruction to get my .mts files into a single video clip I can edit with.

You should use the join button in TSmuxer after adding the first file. That way it will create one file. If your making a bluray disk make sure you check the BlueRay button before selecting the output directory. I thought you wanted to create a bluray directory?

I want to get the 7 2gb .mts files that were part of a single 2 hr video on my canon vixia hf s20 to load into my video editor (vegas) as a single video clip. Apparently vegas needs the playlist files (missing) to recombine the .mts files into a seamless clip.

I hit "join" this time instead of dragging the files in. it seemed to join them last time in output... I just want something I can get IN to vegas without the gaps that happen by dragging the short 2GB .mts files in directly.

I wonder why that happens? I mean, Vegas can happily put any two video clips together without a frame's gap, whatever they are. Why should it be different for these files? Only possibility is audio async.

    Cheers,
    David.

Right - it drops 3 to 7 frames worth when it doesn't have the playlist files in the avchd structure to help with recombination and timing.

Using "JOIN" in tsmuxer and setting output to "AVCHD disk" the vegas "device browser" will recognize the directory structure but it fails to see the clip.

This is because the clip from tsmuxer is output as .m2ts instead of .mts - So, from here that .m2ts file can be dragged directly onto the vegas timeline. Easy as pie. The best news of all is that tsmuxer joins the video properly compensating for whatever happens when the camera switches to a new .mts file every 2 gigs. My video streams that were missing the playlist info line up with those imported directly from other cards and cameras throughout the project. Thanks wulf109.
