  1. Hi there.I'm trying to convert my mp4 video files to video on dvds.
The problem is that I cannot afford Nero. Is there a free program that does the job I require?

There are several freeware DVD converters in our 'Tools' section: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/all-in-one-dvd-converters

    You might try DeVeDe

  3. Freemake Video Converter, is free. It passes my brother test, It's easy to use.

Price is right. It converts many, many files types to DVD, MKV etc. My brother just used it to make a DVD from 8 flvs by pasting their urls into the paste url button, one at a time. It downloaded them, converted them and burned a DVD.

It should work fine for you and has many input options and output device options. IT will use CUDA/DXVA if applicable to speed conversion.

I've tried it out and on a Pentium 4 with no Cuda it is OK, on a i7 with Cuda it goes really good. The quality isn't going to match the better applications since it has fewer options but it is free and quick, Since you were mentioning Nero anyway it should compare in quality with that.

It is windows only of course.

    Good Luck

    PS from the comments here:

"After searching for days and trying other Freeware, Shareware & trying out products like Nero I had about given up finding a decent product to convert MP4 files and burn the to DVD. I would either get something that would take 3+ hours or would only play on my laptop, or I would get sound only and a garbled picture or a great picture and NO sound at all. Then I stumbled upon Freemake Video Converter.

This is an excellent, easy to use and doing it right the first time product. And it's Free!"
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself.

I'm beginning to lose my fuckin' patience. I've spent hours using devede and now I cant work out a way to use these additional programs to work to burn it.
Its a ******* disgrace and ive neither the ******* time or patience to **** around, spending additional hours, figuring out how to burn a ******* file to ******* dvd.
