* LG DVD Recorder unable to recognize DVD+RW disc.*
Hi, I have aLG RH1777S recorder (A dual DVD+RW/HDD recorder) and I have problems having the device recognizing a DVD+RW disc.
The disc I have now is the Sony DVD+RW (1x-4x). I wish to record my TV programmes on this disc now instead of on the HDD, - which was what I have been using.
I also intend to transfer the recordings from the recorder's hard disk to the DVD in a process called "Dubbing" using this DVD+RW disc.
The issue is, whenever an empty DVD+RW disc is inserted, the recorder does not recognize it as one. Would using a software to reformat this disc help in any way?
Any thoughts? Thanks for all the help guys!

Can you try again in English? Is this a -RW disc? Is this a +RW disc? Are you trying to use it(record onto it)? Is it recorded on already and you are trying to read it?

Sorry for the confusion. I re-read my original post to realize it was a mess.

When it shows unrecognized disc, have you tried actually erasing it while in the recorder? That works with some recorders, it might with yours, just a hunch.

I've also used Nero and done full erase on dvd+rw discs that were erased in different recorders but could not be recognized by my Philips 720 anymore. I tried the quick erase, but that attempt failed so I use the full erase command, that's another option.

I've tried RW discs on several occasions over the years and found out that they are rarely worth the hassle.

I agree, it is a bit of an hassle, but I only use RWs to transfer from one recorder to another via HS dubbing, no bitrate loss (Philips 720 is a component-in capable recorder fed by a hacked ILO R04, and I prefer the menu off the Liteon 740/760s to finalize my recordings on Rs) so I only keep a few RWs around for my transfers. Once in a while I'll erase the RW with the Liteon by mistake that's when I have to resort to the NERO full-erase route for it to be recognized again in the 720, not often, but it happens!!! Oops, I'm digressinng off topic, sorry.

You should try with other SUPPORTED media first.
I'd avoid sony dvd+rw and use RICOH and VERBATIM DVD+RW.*** Now that you have read me, do some other things. ***
