I got a vob file off my DVD using Isobuster.
I chnaged the extension to mpg.
It plays fine in Windows Media Player both on my XP computer and Win 7 computer.
But, when I try to import it into my video software , it crashes it straight away.
It crashed these:
- Sony Vegas
- Adobe Premier
- Windows DVDMaker
- Windows MovieMaker
But, the mystery (for me) is that it plays fine in Windows Media player, so I have the codecs (right?)
Any ideas?

You have been here 5 years and still do not realise that you simply can not change the .vob extension to .mpg and expect it to work.
Why is it crashing ? Probably because the vob has more than one audio stream or the vob is NOT the complete file with the appropiate mpeg header etc
Basically, you need all the vobs and the ifo file. Then try vob2mpg to extract the mpeg from the vob.
Others may suggest different tools. -
That one's probably the best, and yes it should solve this problem, and also yes you should have already known that.
