  1. I have tried to transfer 8 mm and suoer 8 mm to a DVD using an analog video camera 8mm format but get a very annoying flicker. Is there any way to get rid of this?

Here's an informative article on how to convert home videos to a digital format. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1618829,00.asp

  3. If you have flicker I would recommend trying another projector. I had unbearable flicker on a Eumig 250-d trying to capture to a sony digital-8 camera. I then changed to a Eumig 3000rs and it was gone completly which means I can make DVDs

8mm file runs ~16 or ~18 fps vs 25 (PAL) or 29.97 (NTSC).

Assuming the NTSC case, you need to adjust film projector play rate manually for minimal flicker. 18 fps film is slowed to 14.985 fps (83% speed) for minimal flicker. This assumes a 2x gate in the projector.
