I tried this program a few months back and had a few problems with it. It would have a lot of pixelation and corruct frames at cut points and it would crash on me all the time while trying to seek through the file I was trying to cut.

Looking at their forum, there seems to be a lot of people with the same problems. Some Windows 7 users have fixed the crash/freeze problem by running the program in XP compatability mode but no fix for XP users. Some people with NVidia cards have fixed the crash/freeze problem with driver updates. Not sure what XP users with ATI cards are supposed to do.

This software was not ready for prime time and the updated version doesn't seem to fix any issues. Hopefully they get this software working right because at half the price of VideoRedo, it would be an awesome piece of software.

If running the software in XP compaibiliy mode doesn't fix the problem, I'd check out their forum and see if anyone there can help you.

What version do you have? I just noticed that Smart Cutter is up to version 1.3.6. Maybe they've fixed some issues since 1.3.2.

All I can recommend is to go real slow when trying to move through the clip and you might want to try and just do one cut at a time or just two or three. It seemed like the more cuts that I would try and squeeze out at a time the more likely it would crash and I'd have to start all over again. It really acts like there is a serious memory leak.

I usually used Fame Ring to do my cuts (one cut at a time) and then a free program like TSsniper or H264TS cutter to join the cuts together.

I believe there was also a HD-PVR setting in Smart Cutter to help with files from the Hauppauge card.
