    Hi!

What's the difference between a XSVCD and a (mini)DVD in the same resolution and bitrate? I think there's no difference; I'm asking only for curiosity.

    See you

  4. Well, since mini-DVDs can be the same quality as those retail DVDs on the shelf at Best Buy (if properly encoded, from top quality source material), the best mini-DVD will look better than the best SVCD.

Read the "what is" links on the upper left; "what is dvd" and "what is svcd".
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

If you took the d2v file and just changed the headers to SVCD it would be identical quality I believe. So the video quality would be identical. However, I believe XSVCDs are infinetely more compatible than miniDVD however. One advantage miniDVD has is the ability to store full 5.1 soundtracks(or even 6.1 with some movies).

I think too. If your DVD player cannot read miniDVD discs, you can burn your DVD file as a XSVCD without loosing nothing. I'm doing it here..
