  1. Is there a drive out there yet that will record to a DVD-RAm and/or DVD-R disc. Thanks.

    plenty.....Panasonic has one in a kit that can record both and comes with a firewire card and pinicle studio 7....we recently bought one for work.

    There are two kinds.

    1. DVD-R/DVD-RAM: mainly by Panasonic but there are other manufacturers such as LG and Samsung. (Samsung drives are much cheaper than Panasonic where I am.)

    2. DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD-RAM/CD-R/CD-RW (DVD Multi): LG-Hitachi in Japan only so far. Panasonic and others may start shipping them from September or October. LG originally planned to ship them in late 2001 but it's probably delayed into 2003.

    Check the info on this site, you probably won't have much need for DVD-RAM. DVD-R is probably the best one to go for, but DVD+R is emerging also. Pricewatch and similar search engines will find you plenty of hits.
