  2. probably a playback issue

how are you taking screenshots ? do you have 2 media players open at the same time?

only 1 instance can use the overlay mixer as the renderer , so close everything so only 1 is open (ie check 1 at a time)

I am taking screen shot for each file individually no 2 media players..
and iam using the same renderer for both files, why the color is so desaturated like that

  4. It shouldn't be.

It's likely a playback configuration problem and not an encoding issue.

What software are you using ?

If you want, you can try another x264 GUI if you want e.g. ripbot , handbrake, megui etc.... but I suspect you will get same results

  6. Did you enable some filters either through the program or ffdshow?

I'm not too familiar with HDConvertToX , but I still suspect it's a playback issue

You can try another GUI like the ones listed above (just try it out on a short 5-10 sec sample until you figure out what the problem is)

Or post a sample of the source and encode to rule out a playback issue (so others can check to see if it's ok)

  7. well, i changed the mpc render from EVR to WMR9 and i got the bad colors from the original file..
it seems that the EVR renderer is working well on the original file and doesn't with the encoded one!!

but iam still can't get the same color quality fom the encoded file on all other renderes!!
    is this normal?
and why the evr works fine with the original ts file and produces great colors..and doesn't do the same with the mkv file???

  8. vmr9 (renderless) will always give "washed out" faded look

what splitter? haali external or internal splitter ?

you might have to configure the internal filters in mpchc (or disable some)

    can you test "overlay mixer"

If you have internal filter enabled (e.g. for TS or matroska), it will override the system installed splitter

If you see haali icon pop up in task bar, external splitter is being used

What decoder are you using? internal ffmpeg (dxva ) or external decoder?

    yes Iam using Haali.
and the decoder for the original file is MPC dxva but for the encoded file it uses ffshow..

I tried to play the MKV file on the satellite receiver and i got the same washed out colors!!

    I got the colors back..
and the decoder that is after disabling this is Microsoft DTV-DVD video decoder..
    is this the solutin??
and is there is any alternatives for EVR because it gives a black screen on kmplayer and they didn't fix it till now..

  13. Right click on the MPCHC window while the video is playing. Hover over Filters. You'll see the list of filters being used for playback. Selecting one of the filters will bring up a dialog which may have controls you can adjust.
