  1. Hi All,

How do I resize a 1080p/16:9 video to 720x480 using the resize filter? Not sure which options to select. Video is from a Canon 5d.

  2. Type in 720x480 in the first box, disable aspect ratio, most people would select lanczos as the filter mode

Why are you using vdub for this ? How are you importing into vdub ?

  3. Absolute Pixels - enabled
    Aspect Ratio - disabled
width 720, height 480 (assuming you are making a 16:9 DAR DVD)

If the source is very sharp or noisy I would use Precise Bilinear. If the source isn't so sharp and not noisy Lanczos3. Are you sure it's 1080p, not 1080i?

I've been using vdub for years now without any issues on standard video. I converted the 1080p H.26 .MOV file using NeoScene to avi. Then import into vdub.

I have a small sample (24mb) at the following link. The Canon 5d MarkII can only shoot in 1080p or 640. At least those are my only options on the menu.

  6. Yes, it's 29.97 fps progressive video. You can open the file directly in VirtualDub if you have the MOV source plugin installed.
