help converting mkv to divx or mp4

I am trying to convert my mkv files to mp4 or divx so they play on my blu ray player with forwarding and rewinding. I always make it into m2ts but I don't want to do that anymore because in my blu ray player it doesn't forward or rewind with those formats and it is just easier with divx and/or mp4 files. I have tried XMediaRecode, Super and some other programs. with converting to mp4 I always get the picture, but not the audio(doesnt matter if I change the audio to aac or ac3 it never works). With converting to avi it never plays for some reason and sometimes there is only audio. I don't want to use programs like gotsent and programs that need all these codecs in the right spot because something always goes wrong. If you have a solution to my problem let me know.
