Hello. I've been looking for some time for a method or video editing software that can line up thousands of pictures into a video, with each picture lasting no more than two or three frames each. I'm not terribly thrilled about doing it manually. I've tried several different programs, but none of them have the control of setting picture durations to the two or three frames that I need. I figured it'd be easiest to ask in a video editing forum, so here I am. I'd appreciate it if anyone that could recommend editing software capable of that, with maybe some quick instructions.

I know of a method that will work in VirtualDub, but it's hard to tell you what to do unless you specify what framerate you want in the video. Or how many pictures a second you want displayed.

For 3 frames each and a final framerate of 24fps (for example) specify FPS=8 and then in the next line ChangeFPS(24)....with each picture lasting no more than two or three frames each.

And as sincostan45 says, knowing the final framerate and the number of frames each pic is to be shown, VDub can do the same thing.

DVD Slideshow GUI - but I fail to see the point in displaying images for milliseconds. "Just another sheep boy, duck call, swan

I don't know why he wants that, either - I only provided a means to the end.

If you look at the video that I created per his specs, it does have a special effects kind of a roll to it - not what I'd want, but to each his own.;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,

What is required in this thread can be easily satisfied by using a good slide show production program. I suggest that you get ProshowGold from Photodex and use it to put in thousands of pictures. Then make the display time for each slide less than 1 second. You can make also the transition times very short. Then use the software to produce the slide show as a video file. All this is doable. Remains the question why would you do such a thing. But of course as we say in French "Chaqu'un son gout" and I have full respect for every persons ideas and choices. Good luck.

the only time I've seen it done is people take pictures of themselves or someone else every day/week/month for an extended period of time so you can watch them change/age within a short period of time...of course it only works well if they're framed similarly in each photo.
