I've attempted to convert The Jackal from DVD to SVCD using the following software:
CladDVD to rip the movie
Flask/AVISynth/TMPEG to convert VOB's to MPEG2 SVCD
When playing back the encoded mpeg file, there is noticeable jerky movement when motion occurs in a horizontal pattern.
I've De-Interlaced in Flask, I've tried 23.9??fps (with TMPEG 3:2 pulldown checked off) and 29.97fps, but the jerkiness remains. The rest of the picture quality is fine. I've been using the same settings with other movies and have not encountered this problem. Could the problem be with the GOP pattern? If I recall, I set the pattern to IBBPBBPBBPBB in TMPEG.
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks in advance for your responses.
