I am trying to convert videos downloaded from Youtube using KeepVid.The videos are MP4,480X360.I am using Koyotesoft Free Video Converter to convert them to AVI.I leave the resolution and aspect ratio unchanged and FPS is 30.I have tried the DIVX5 and plain DIVX codecs. What I am watching the videos on is a Aluratek Cinepal PMP.The conversions look great as far as sharpness and color-it's just that they jerk every few seconds.I think they used to playback smoothly when I used older versions of FreeVideoConverter.Maybe the newest version has a bug in it or something.I also have the Super video converter if I need to use it.Any suggestions about frame rates, codecs, video containers, etc.?The Aluratek PMP will play almost anything ,so I don't have to stick with AVI.

Don't change the framerate. If you change it it 30, the software might add or delete frames if the original FPS wasn't 30 in the first place, and you could get choppy/jerky playback

Don't convert it in the first place if your PMP "will play almost anything" , this way you don't waste time or lose quality
