  1. Hi there,

I'm trying Ulead DVDworkshop to author 90 min CD's. The problem is that DVDworkshop refuses to overburn the CD using the available drivers. So, the only option is to produce an *.ixa CD image.

But, now, how can I burn this image? I have tried to convert it to an *.iso, but the CD won't play correctly, neither on PC nor on standalone player. It seems that Ulead writes a track for each input video chapter, but the iso conversion produces only 1 track CD...

Has anyone managed to produce 90+ min CD with Ulead DVDworkshop (or other Ulead author tools)?

    Thanks in advance,

  2. Hi, I posted an almost identical query a few days ago but nobody had any ideas. I also tried converting to raw data, an ISO and a Bin/Cue image file (with Isobuster). None of these worked on my standalone player but they did work on my PC (powerDVD). The ISO and Bin/Cue files did show the beginning menu but nothing else. Anyway I hope somebody comes to our assistance as it is annoying, Cheers, Dom.

  3. 1.use isobuster to convert .ixa to .bin (no .cue )
2.use vcdxrip(from vcdimager) or use vcdeasy to extract .bin to those mpeg files and .xml (videocd.xml)
3.use vcdxbuild (vcdxbuild videocd.xml) to generate a new .bin /.cue

(the above process is to get this .cue file.....)
4.now , use nero or cdrwin to burn this bin/cue

  4. Hi,

I finally found an easy way !!

Ulead's DVD MovieFactory includes an standalone program named BurnIxa.exe (you should look in its installed directory). Of course, it is able to burn *.ixa images. And know what? If there is not enough space in the cd it ASKS if the burn process should continue...

A final word of warning: it doesn't support "Just Link" technology, so I would recommend overburnnig at slow speed (4x is good for me). This caution is based on my increased collection of decorative burnt CD's.

    @kHenryan
Thank you for your response. I will also try yor method, because i would love to burn with Nero to have "Just link" support and 12x burning speed. However, in previous attemps, I extracted the image to *.bin with isobuster and the problem is that a single track CD is extracted, instead of a multiple track. Will give it a try, however.

  5. Not wanting to appear a cretin (alas failing miserably) but what is 'just link' technology? Apart from that how on earth did you find the burnixa application? Plenty of time on your hands? Well done anyway hopefully it will cut down on my time and effort considerably. Cheers, Dom.

  6. "Just Link" is a technology used to avoid buffer underrun errors during the burning process. I think it's provided by ricoh based models (mine is an aopen model). It's an alternative to the more common "Burn prof" technology (which is supposed to be supported by burnIxa.exe).

I discovered burnIxa.exe application looking for a way to modify ASPI drivers on Ulead's products to use Nero's one. I was so desperate

By the way, there is a trial version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory in their site, which should include this burnIxa application.

    Good luck overburning.

    Cheers

  7. Yep I've found the application. I've got a TDK with burn proof so hopefully I should be OK. All I've got to do now is not be at work and be at home instead, cheers for your help, Dom.
