Having problems with Alba 114 dvd player,help

When I play a SVCD on this player,there is no sound playback,what am I doing wrong,can anyone help

I phoned the hotline...heres how the conversation went...roughly.

Scienide: I've just purchased a DVD114 and it wont play the audio on the SVCD's.

Bloke: Ahhh....erm....where did you copy it from?

Scienide:.......copy?.....no i didnt copy it (LIE)

Bloke: The DVD114 is designed to block the audio on all copied media...sometimes you might get lucky with the vcd's but the SVCD's audio will never play unless its and original copy.

Scienide:.....oh.....right....so you think my SVCD has Probably been copied?

Bloke: Definatly

Scienide: Ohhh those little bastards...just you wait, i'll get them for this.... I DIDN'T COPY IT!!!! I DIDN'T!!!!!! ARRRGHHHH

Hangs up phone and runs away.
