    im looking at buying a sony HD-FX1. ive been told its a NTSC model will this cause a problem because we use PAL in australia ? or can i export the footage on final cut to the correct region it will be played in ?

  2. as long as it's cheap enough it wouldn't be a bad camera. it had small 1100x900 sensors iirc, so it's not as good as newer HDV cams with true 1920x1080 sensors.

    what's your intended final output? can you live with ntsc? converting 1080 60i to pal 50i is not a great idea.

    the charger might be a problem ~ it may be 120v 60htz.

    No easy way to convert NTSC to PAL. You would have to live with NTSC or suffer large conversion loss.

    BTW, the FX-1 will not do 24p regardless of "cinema" modes so that isn't an option.
