  1. Hello!

I have a Sony HDR-FX1 and I have been supplied with a mini-dv tape that was shot at 24 FPS. My camera does not shoot at 24FPS, so I'm wondering if I can capture this footage without having any problems.

The camera does play back the tape, but I'm wondering if it's possibly converting the footage to 29.97.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I -think- foo is asking if a 24p recorded tape will play in the FX1.
Here's someone who has done it:

The basic answer to your question is yes.

Do you know which camcorder recorded the 24p/24pF/24pA?

All are recorded to standard DV 60i (29.97) format with various schemes for field repeat sequence.

Once transferred, you need to know the "24p" format to know which software is needed to edit it. Best way to figure that out is to identify the camcorder that recorded it.
