I can't play flv files which are downloaded from youtube; Gspot says the codec mime type is unknown. FFdshow doesn't help, Winavi flv converter can't decode it. I believe the problem lies with a new codec of flash video 10. Could someone help me since I can't find any flash codec aside from FFDshow(built-in flv decoder is outdated even with the latest releases)

  2. Check file used MediaInfo.
    It's AVC/AAC in FLV?

    Install latest FLV splitter.

Yes it is in AVC(for video)/AAC(for audio) in Flv container.
Thx; I did update FFDShow but I didn't think of updating flv splitter until you suggested; No problems now.

I've been starting having problems downloading flv youtube videos with downloadhelper (firefox) but i figured a slightly longer way. Ok

Now some of the latest flv vids can't be converted with SuperC (also their forum doesn't download anymore !?).

    Gspot says

Codec: ???? Codec name: Flash Video Unknown Type
    Status: Codec Status Undetermined

I downloaded WinFF and it converted new flv's to xvid correctly.

I installed K-lite standard klcodec470s to clean up things and get flv-splitter 1.0.0.5.

Gspot now says CoreAVC video decoder is proposed solution. Render OK.

My question is : How do I get ffdshow video codec to be used for latest flv files to play on MPClassic and maybe help converter softwares to handle latest flv files.

Thanks a lot, latest FLV news greatly appreciated.

Klite 480 has all the new stuff, and all the new FLVs play ok AFAIK ..
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm

    - Gspot still has no clue ( ????) , but MPC plays them ok....
    ( did they miss something when upgrading 470 to 480 ??? )
I found this converter that will list what these new youtube files are, and convert them...
    http://www.pazera-software.com/products/flv-to-avi-converter/

My big problem though, is to get Zoomplayer to play these files.... ('howto' is needed, not filters, etc....:P )
I have tried version 20081115, 20090127, 20090428 from various sources including klite 480..

    MPC will not:
auto load the next dir file(without a playlist!),
zoom/pan/pause/rewind/step in *many* ways(using single keypress), etc, etc...

do you know another that will ???
