I don't know the fps of my mkv file, I tried to check it with Gspot but only the path, size, file type and mime type were shown. However, I believe it has 25fps rate, in the other thread, you and manono suggested that I checked the m2v file with the srt and I found out they are offsynced, so I tried the above script in HCenc, then I check this m2v file with the srt file and they do sync.

no, so when I played the m2v (the one converted by hcenc with the 25fps script) and srt together with VLC, they were in sync (as opposed to before, when I didn't use the frame rate conversions command in the script, they were not in sync), I then proceed with GfD but muxman gave the error I told you in my previous post, you suggested to use dgpulldown so I used it to convert the m2v file into 29.97. I then used Subtitle workshop the maestroSBT to convert the srt into sst (I chose 29.97 for both fps in and fps out in Maestro's timing setting). GfD didn't give any error this time but again, in the end, the subs didn't sync with the video when I played the DVD.

  4. Either keep everything at 25 fps (then set GfD to use PAL) or convert/set everything to 29.97 fps (the video converted by hcenc with the 25fps script + dgpulldown -> 29.97 fps). Load the srt in Subtitle workshop but set the framerate to 29.97 fps BEFORE you load the srt file (vice versa, if you want to keep the 25 fps, set Subtitle workshop to 25 fps and load the srt afterwards).
In maestroSBT chose 29.97 (or 25) for both fps in and fps out. Only the video needs a 'conversion' (if any), the subs have 'real' timecodes (in minutes and seconds) which should not be changed.

  6. As I don't know why it didn't work either, please check the timecodes.
