I am running Vista 64 bit and Divx Author craps out everytime I run it. I have tried many of the suggested options from Divx forums but nothing works. I need a program to edit video clips (unwanted commercials and etc.) and then convert them to Divx. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Jason

Well, you don't have to do these tasks with Divx Author. You could instead do:
1) Assuming MPEG-1/2 source, edit with VideoReDo or MPEGVCR (both are try before you buy, but neither is freeware). Assuming AVI source you have some free options for editing, like Virtual Dub.
2) Use the free Dr. Divx to convert the edited file to Divx.
Unless you need Divx 6 subtitles or chapters, you don't have to use Divx Author for this.
