What happens: when I play my authorized DVD (and burned) on DVD player the subtitles don't appear.
More details: this DVD has original (chinese) subtitles and my-made english subtitles.
When played on DVD player and chinese subtitles are chosen, they're visible. If I choose english ones, they do not appear.
Programs used:
For translating - Aegisub v2.00 (I just took already made subtitles from .mkv file and re-timed them + deleted unnecessary). After this program, the file was .ass
http://www.mediafire.com/?nzjvtiwjmmv
Then converted into .srt using Subtitle Workshop v2.51
http://www.mediafire.com/?yjhhyjdriem
After that converted into .sup using SubtitleCreator v2.2
http://www.mediafire.com/?zyi53jtq5ml
Then in the same SubtitleCreator Tools -> DVD Authoring Wizard (together with PgcDemux, MuxMan and IfoEdit). All files selected correctly, authored without any errors.
ScreenShots made while played on PC with Windows Media Player: (I have other programs - VLC, PowerDVD, KMP but in this one it looks the best)
1) menu: http://i40.tinypic.com/hvscxw.jpg
2) selected "Play" the main file: http://i43.tinypic.com/1jqlqt.jpg
When played on PC, it plays normally. If on DVD, nothing appears (only original chinese)
So I need help: what to do to make them appear?

Offhand, I would guess it is a text encoding issue, in which the Chinese character-set is still loaded from the original subtitle file. So, when you type in Roman characters for the English words, they are replaced with a corresponding Chinese symbol. Make sure your text encoding is set for ISO-8859-1.
I could be wrong about that, but from you're description, that is what it sounds like. -
When played on PC, the English subtitles are visible and normal.
When played on DVD, the English subtitles are invisible. And the text doesn't become chinese/random symbols. They just don't appear at all.
+ The same happens with other DVD, that has no original subtitles. I just made English ones for it. The same happens - the subtitles don't appear. -
Ah -- I wasn't clear on that. Well, if the English subs can be seen on PC, it may just be an issue with your DVD player. I have an old DVD unit that won't play subs unless you specifically select those subs on its remote.
See if the subs show on a different DVD player.
