    I have a a dvd from my small collection and I tried backing it up with dvd shrink and img burn. It will not copy it and the application crahses or I get random error messages. I even tried fab and decrypter no luck except I found out the dvd has CSS/CPPM region 1,4- RCE protection. Want to make a backup but my programs are not working. Any ideas please?

    what year is the movie??
    dvd shrink should be able to do it i have used it and had no problems!
    i have DVDFAB and its the best out there and fast and you can backup the whole movie with extras and all or just the movie!

    the dvd is from last year. old to me and i want to back it up before it gets trashed any further. I agree shrink and fab are great. But for some reason it will not copy this specific dvd (no scratches). I have vista.

    Shrink and fab keep running into errors with this particular movie.

    Any ideas?

    the only other choice is the latest version of anydvd.

    is your dvdfabdecrypter updated to the newest version? it can handle almost all the same things anydvd can.

    Try AnyDVD

    The trial is fully functional except it won't save any settings so you lose them everytime you exit it

    The included DVD ripper when AnyDVD is installed with has helped me a couple of times when my usual AnyDVD+DVD Decrypter just hasn't a clue and can't rip it correctly giving all sorts of weird issues and claiming it would take 20-30 hours to rip and trying to rip it incorrectly. AnyDVD ripper managed it first pass

    Hello seekyr;

    If the most recent version of DVDFab HD Decrypter is unable to rip a one year old movie, then you almost certainly have a problem somewhere else.

    Still, you might want to try the freeware application DVD43
    http://www.dvd43.com/

    The link should take you to a download page; the current version is 4.4 and it works for me in the vast majority of instances.
    Last week, I backed up "Hancock" using it.
