I tried using Windows Media Player 10 to play flv files but wouldnt work, even with K-Lite codec. I had to download VLC Media Player. Did I just not download the right codec for WMP10?

Have you installed FLV Splitter? (I don't know if K-Lite installs it, no.) Also, you may need to enable the FLV1 and VP* codecs in ffdshow (assuming K-Lite installs ffdshow, which I think it does.)

VLC media player is standalone. Is FLV splitter and ffdshow both codecs like K-Lite?

Later versions of VLC seem to be able to play some FLVs for me (well less than half of the ones I try, I'd say), but not others. The results varied on different systems, and I'm not quite sure about all the factors that might be involved. Still, this is better than GOM could do. If you want to be able to play just about all FLV content, install FLV Player. It is kind of Spartan, feature-wise, as players go, but it works.Originally Posted by jyeh74When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.
