I have old home movies (no sound) that have been transferred to vhs. I have a vcr to dvd recorder. Result: dvds of old movies but there is of course no sound from old movies, so I want to have some back ground music. What to do?

get an authoring program like dvdlab, import the vobs and then add an audio track that you have made, and then author a new dvd image or files.

ocasey - when your dvd recorder has finalized your recordings, there should be a video_ts folder on the disc. inside the that folder you should find large files ending with .vob these are the movie files you can import into an authoring program to redo with audio.

Also remember that you can rename *.VOB files to *.MPEG and play them/edit them with just about anything.

rather than renaming, a better option is to strip them out of the vob wrapper with vob2mpg.
